SUMMER SALE
Löv
Six things separate a good sauna tent from a bad one: the quality of the materials and components, test reports, how hot it gets, what's included in the box, warranty and spare parts. This page compares bast with the rest of the market on all six.
In a product photo, every sauna tent looks the same. The difference only shows after a couple of seasons - in the stove, in the accessories that come with it, and in how long the tent lasts. That's where we've put the work: thicker steel in the stove, materials tested by independent institutes, and spare parts you can order when something wears out. If you're only after the lowest one-off price, there are cheaper tents - we're honest about that. If you want a sauna that lasts year after year, this is the comparison you'll want to read.
In this table we compare bast with other sauna tents on the market. No competitors are named - each row points to a concrete feature you can verify yourself during your own comparison. You can also contact us for specific comparisons.
The figures come from the bast specifications and the two test reports. Statements about other portable sauna tents are generalisations - we don't single out individual competitors.

bast is the only portable sauna tent on the Nordic market that has been independently third-party tested by both TÜV SÜD and RISE, and designed together with a technical university. Get in touch to see the test results.
Two independent test reports and a university collaboration. No other sauna tent on the European market has this combination. Interested in our reports? Send us a message and we'll help you.
Independent third-party review from one of Europe's largest testing institutes. Construction, seams, frame and chimney - reviewed and documented.
Research Institutes of Sweden - Sweden's state research institute. Measures heat capacity, thermal comfort and degree of insulation under Nordic conditions.
bast is developed together with the Technical University of Luleå. Cold resistance, insulation and energy efficiency underpin the design - not as an afterthought.
Same feel, same steel, same quality throughout - and just as hot in all three. The difference is how many people fit.

The world's most portable sauna tent. Made for the trip to the cabin, the boat, the winter tour, or a spontaneous sauna on the beach. Packs down compactly - fits in your luggage, the car or the boat.

The best seller - made to stay at home all year round. Fits a family or a group of friends - and is mobile enough for the cabin trip or the beach when needed.

Our largest model - for families, groups of friends or clubs that want a permanent sauna at home without building one. Fits up to ten people and heats up in roughly the same time as the smaller models.
It's our second tent sauna. Before, we had a Russian-made Mobiba, which we thought was fantastic, but bast beats it in many ways: easy to set up, a protective cover against the weather, and the overall high quality of both the tent and the stove. It's a solid product that we'll enjoy for many years.
The customer service at bast is second to none! Any time I've had an issue or concern, they're quick to respond and do their best to solve it quickly and efficiently.
It hasn't been without snags, and they've been humble enough to take feedback on board and are always keen to improve their product. I trust these guys!
I've only had the sauna for a month, but so far I'm very satisfied with how quickly you can set it up, and it takes about 30 minutes to reach 80 degrees - I've managed to get it to 100 degrees too. The stove doesn't need much wood to stay hot. Even in the rain it stayed dry inside. I'm very happy with this purchase.
bast uses 300D Oxford fabric with a double PU coating and double-stitched seams, plus a stainless 304 chimney with a spark arrester - materials dimensioned for 10+ years of use. The construction was developed together with the Technical University of Luleå and third-party tested by TÜV SÜD and RISE - get in touch and we'll gladly tell you more.
You get a 2-year warranty and always have access to spare parts. Every component - tent pole, chimney pipe, stove door, tent fabric - can be ordered separately if something breaks. If you're not happy with your bast within 100 days, we'll take it back and refund you. Read the terms here.
Yes. With a wood-fired bast stove, a Näver sauna tent reaches around 80 °C in 15 minutes at an outdoor temperature of about -10 °C. In colder conditions, heating takes longer - exactly how long depends on wind, wood and outdoor temperature. That's the same temperature level as a commercial sauna.
Many portable sauna tents on the market need 20-30 minutes for the same temperature, and some never get above 70 °C.
The best way to answer that is to look at what you actually pay over time, not just the price tag. When you buy a bast, the stove, stones, bag, benches and weather protection and more are included. Shipping is free and you have a 30-day right of return plus a 100-day satisfaction guarantee.
When you compare with other portable sauna tents, the total package often comes out several thousand kronor higher once the accessories are counted in. Add a typical lifespan of 2-4 years for cheaper alternatives, and the picture over 5 years looks different. Want us to do the maths for your specific case? Get in touch and we'll help you.
Yes - and that's how most of our customers use it. Löv (210 × 210 cm) fits most plots; Näver (270 × 270 cm) suits a smaller garden or terrace; Björk (330 × 330 cm) needs a larger area. All three can stay up permanently all year round or be taken down in about 15 minutes when you're not using them.
No planning permission or shoreline protection to worry about - the sauna doesn't count as a permanent building.
Four things are concrete and verifiable:
1. Two independent test reports. TÜV SÜD and RISE. Most portable sauna tents lack independent assessment entirely.
2. Designed together with the Technical University of Luleå. Construction developed in collaboration with a technical university - rare on the market.
3. Everything's included in the package. We have four different packages tailored to what you want.
4. 100-day satisfaction guarantee + replaceable components. If you're not happy, you get your money back. And every component can be ordered individually.
Material- and performance-specific comparisons can be found in the tables above.
Free shipping right to your door. 100 days to try it - satisfied or your money back. Unsure about the size? Book a free consultation - we'll go through your space and your sauna habits and help you choose the right one.
